Renaissance
Electroline Solid Body Bass Series
by
Rick Turner
John
McVie - Fleetwood Mac
John McVie's
main bass now is an Electroline 4-string : an
Electroline solid body ELS-434 PM2...the
model with an oiled swamp ash body, two Turner low noise
magnetic soapbar pickups and the Turner piezo equipped
Hipshot bridge. John recorded the entire 'Say You Will'
album with that bass, and he also used a fretless version
for the tour. John also has a Renaissance RB-4 fretted
semi-hollow (used on 'The Dance' video) with
Thomastik-Infeld Jazz Roundwounds and earlier in 2003
ordered the fretless unlined version of this superb
bass.

"The
Electroline has a phenomenal sound - one of the most
defined low ends and singing tops ends we've heard.
Individual notes swell as you sustain them, and the
harmonics are sweet and clear...(it) exhibited super lows
with lots of acoustic-like thump. The frequency response of
the electronics is fantastic; we needed to add virtually no
amp EQ.".........Bass

EVERY BASS DESIGN REPRESENTS A SET OF
VALUES.
For
some, the focus is on tradition. For others, the emphasis
is on bells & whistles. And for too many, the highest
priority is cutting cost.
Rick Turner has designed the Electroline series from a
different point of view. His goal was to create the bass
that you'd actually use in the studio and on
stage...because it delivers every solid-body tone that you
need without relying on EQ or outboard
enhancement.
The key to the Electroline's tone flexibility is the Turner
"Reference" piezo pickup system, providing a separate
pickup for each string. The sound from this high-fidelity
system, which comes standard on every Electroline
instrument, is so full that many players opt for the
piezo-only model, combined with the Thomastick-Infeld
bronze-wrapped nylon Acousticore strings. Frequency
response is enormous, and on a fretless, this combination
produces the most stunning "mwah" you've ever
heard.
Adding the single diamond or dual soapbar magnetic pickups
extends your Electroline's range even further with
enhanced, low-noise traditional tones. The blending
controls and the 18-volt Highlander pre-amp put this entire
spectrum of sound at your fingertips, with whatever balance
you choose!
