The Model 1
is the instrument best known as
"The Turner Guitar".
Prominently featured in Fleetwood Mac and Lindsey
Buckingham videos and recordings, this is the guitar often
mistaken for an acoustic or semi-hollow instrument.
Rick based the ultra cool body shape on an early 19th
century Viennese guitar which may have been built by Johann
Stauffer, the man who taught guitar to Christian Frederick
Martin.
The Model 1-C was first introduced specifically for Lindsey
during the sessions for "Tusk' as the Les Paul he was using
then did not suit his fingerstyle technique. The unique
Turner rotating pickup when used with the bass side rotated
closer to the bridge delivers the sweet spot for Lindsey,
giving a little more low-end definition to help cut through
the band whilst the treble side of the pickup being closer
to the neck sweetens the top strings for him.
This guitar has the most amazing tonal ranges of any guitar
available further widened with the addition of the piezo
bridge option. If you are looking for an instrument that
can cover practically any guitar sound and beyond then this
guitar has it in abundance. Everyone of our customers has
been delighted with the feel and sound of their instruments
both for live and studio work.
